About Oluwaseyi
Oluwaseyi Olawale is the CEO and founder of Genomac Holdings, a Nigerian company with four subsidiaries. The most prominent is Genomac Institute, which focuses on biotechnology education and research. Genomac trains and mentors students globally on biotechnology fundamentals, research methods, and industry pathways, with participants coming from over 120 countries across Africa and beyond.
Operating an educational institution at that geographic scale is a payment infrastructure problem before it is anything else. For most of Genomac's early growth, that infrastructure was the bottleneck.
The challenge
Genomac's previous payment processor (DPO) struggled with the international transaction volume Genomac was generating. Payments from students in different African countries, Europe, and beyond would fail at unpredictable rates. Each failed transaction was a lost student.
"The biggest challenge for us was processing payments from over 120 countries. Coachli solved that, allowing us to scale globally and process payments with ease."
Compounding the issue: the tools they used for payments did not integrate with educational delivery. Genomac was running multiple platforms in parallel, one for payments, others for course delivery, mentorship, and live sessions. The fragmentation made it hard to scale.
Why Coachli
Genomac needed three capabilities in one platform: reliable international payment processing across many currencies and regions, integration of educational delivery (1-on-1 sessions, live classes, digital products), and the institutional trust that comes from a regulated platform handling the funds correctly.
"Coachli's integrity gives us peace of mind. We can trust the platform to hold our money without the fear of losing it."
How Oluwaseyi uses Coachli
- Multi-currency payment processing accepting students from across Africa and globally, dramatically expanding their addressable market
- 1-on-1 mentorship sessions with biotechnology students
- Live classes for cohort-based educational programs
- Digital products for self-paced biotechnology content
- Integrated dashboard managing all four streams from one Coachli account
"The integration of 1-on-1 sessions, live classes, and digital products has made it easier for us to manage academic content and mentor students virtually."
Results
- Successfully processing payments from 120+ countries, up from a much narrower geographic range under their previous processor
- Multi-currency feature enabling true global scale for the institute
- Educational tools (sessions, classes, products) consolidated on one platform
- Trust and security concerns addressed, freeing Genomac to focus on the education itself
"My favourite feature is the multi-currency payment option. It allows us to process payments from multiple countries, which has helped us reach a broader audience and grow our business beyond borders. If you want to scale your business and reach a global audience, you need to leverage Coachli. It makes processing payments from multiple countries easy, and you do not have to worry about losing customers due to payment issues."
